Bringing Occupational Therapy Home: A Lifeline for Parents Who Need It Most

Imagine watching your child struggle with everyday tasks—buttoning a shirt, holding a pencil, or simply sitting still. You know they need help, but what if therapy is out of reach? Maybe the nearest occupational therapy center is miles away, or the cost is more than your family can afford.

You’re not alone. And more importantly, you’re not without options. That’s why I wrote a book dedicated to helping parents bring occupational therapy (OT) into their homes—so every child, no matter their circumstances, can get the support they deserve.

Why Some Families Can’t Access Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is life-changing for children who struggle with fine motor skills, sensory challenges, or daily activities. But here’s the reality:

✔️ Therapy is expensive. Many families can’t afford the ongoing costs of OT.

✔️ Therapists aren’t everywhere. Rural areas often lack OT centers, leaving parents without nearby options.

✔️ Waiting lists are long. Even in cities, getting an appointment can take months.

✔️ Insurance doesn’t always cover it. Many plans have limits or exclusions for OT.

So what happens to the kids who need therapy but can’t get it? Too often, they’re left to struggle. But I believe parents should never have to feel helpless when it comes to their child’s development.

You Can Be Your Child’s Best Therapist

This is where my book comes in—a guide to bringing occupational therapy home in a way that’s practical, effective, and designed for real families. It’s not about replacing professional therapists but about empowering parents to support their child’s growth right where they are.

Inside, you’ll find:

✔️ Easy, at-home activities that build motor skills, coordination, and independence.

✔️ Sensory-friendly strategies to help kids feel more comfortable in their environment.

✔️ Practical solutions for common challenges, like handwriting struggles or picky eating.

✔️ Encouragement and guidance—because you’re not just a parent; you’re an advocate, a guide, and your child’s biggest supporter.

Hope, Not Helplessness

I know what it feels like to want the best for a child and hit roadblocks at every turn. But I also know that parents are resourceful, resilient, and willing to do whatever it takes.

This book is for the moms and dads who refuse to accept “there’s nothing you can do.”

It’s for the families who believe every child deserves a chance to thrive.

It’s for you.

Therapy may not always be accessible—but solutions can be. And I’m here to help you find them.
